To be a good troubleshooter,we must know how to testing electrical and electronic components.Several components are common used in electrical and electronic device or equipment.This technique is a common essential for the troubleshooter.

The important measuring device that we should have to perform a testing task is a ” Multimeter”.This meter is used to measure continuity or resistance in components.

Troubleshooting technique part 3

After we completed the 2 stage process of troubleshooting ( 1.situation analysis & 2.problem solving ),we need to proceed the last stage ( 3.decision making ).Decision making is defined as the best option,conclusion or alternative ways for our solution to rectify the breakdown or machine problem.

Ok..for example,after we troubleshooting,we confirm the root cause is electric motor defected,there could be several alternatives in deciding how to repair overall system.The motor could be repaired,it could be replaced by the same model or an entirely new upgraded model could be substituted depending upon the operating condition of system. Troubleshooting technique part 2

This time i want discuss about second phase of troubleshooting technique,it is a problem solving.This step will begin after we completed the first step,situation analysis.I already discuss on my last post.

To ensure the problem solving step is successfully,we must done the situation analysis completely and collect the detail information.The best way is by performing the WHY WHY ANALYSIS.

Troubleshooting Technique part 1

To perform a troubleshooting tasks,firstly we must properly an understanding of problem solving and the overall concept of troubleshooting and repairing.It have a step by step technique or method to make a troubleshooting tasks more effective and achieve the target.

From my experience i made an observation about troubleshooting skills at my work placed and i recognized the several mistake done when perform the task.The major mistake always happen is a troubleshooter not analysis or find the root cause of a defect.

For example,when they found the machine cannot operated due to main fuse was blown,they only just change the fuse.They not make a analysis why the fuse is blown.Many reason or cause can make the fuse blown such as overload,short circuit or others.If we found the root cause,we can settle the problem without waste a time and expense for unnecessary matter. For maintenance or electrician,troubleshooting can be a very financially rewarding and personally satisfying.The good troubleshooter has a advantage and proper understanding of electrical or electronic ,hand on skills and problem solving techniques.Troubleshooting is an art.It need creativity and passion to become the expert.

Electronic devices or equipment contain similar component in their circuit board such as transistor,diode,capacitor,resistor,ic,relay,connector,wire and etc.We must understand deeply the component characteristic,common fault for these component,and how to test and verify their condition. read more
